The Greenwich Bay Watershed Group
The Greenwich Bay Watershed Group was founded by the late Leah Robinson, a long-time Warwick resident. Leah and founding organizers met through serving on the Greenwich Bay Special Area Management Plan Citizens Advisory Committee. Leah poured through the Greenwich Bay water quality data then available from the special area management documents and believed additional volunteer monitoring of Greenwich Bay and its watershed was necessary. Through her efforts with fellow members, the Greenwich Bay Watershed Group recently received a $2,000 grant from the New England Grassroots Environment Foundation in response to our application for funding 2005 water quality monitoring of 7 freshwater tributary sites around Greenwich Bay—a project which will be conducted in working coordination with URI Watershed Watch.
We welcome you to join our group. We are for the most part a virtual group. Some face-to-face meetings are held, especially during the warmer months.
We hope that you enjoy our site and find it to be informative. It will never be complete because we are all volunteers who are squeezing in time here and there to keep it updated. We welcome additional volunteer efforts. If you have a web page in mind that fits into this site, let us know. We can help you build the page and insert it into this site.
